vs 8,Luke, "but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And You will be My witnesses, telling people about me everywhere - in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
This was the verse that meant something to me today. Where has my heart gone for the lost. I will and have received power...this power is with me, i need to plug in and let it work thru me...to touch people everywhere I go. Here in San Jose, all thu CA down into Mexico and all over the world.
God show me how I can fullfill this scripture in my Life.
As I face a new season in my life I have decided to list and write about the Favor Of God I see in my life.

Gen 47,48 and Luke 19
In todays reading we find Josephs family living and prospering in Egypt. The choice land of Goshen was givin to them to dwell. Jacob is getting ready to die and has blessed Josephs children Manassah and Ephraim as his children. Then in classic Jacob manner puts his right hand on the youngest over the oldest.
In Luke 19 Jesus enters the city of Jerusalem on a donkey that has never been ridden. The crowds present are saying Hosanna. As Im writing this im looking at a picture of Jerusalem. Some of theseBuildings look like they are pretty old. I can see Jesus walking on the hilly roads with men and women on both sides cheering and laying down palm branches. What a great visual. God bless Jerusalem and keep your hand on it and preserve and bless this City, for the worlds sake.

Gen 31,32,33 and Luke 13
Jacob finally leaves Laben. Ol Laben never get it. He never sees what he did to Jacob as wrong. I think there are people like that in our lives. They will never see how they really are. Laben was so stubborn God had to appear to him to keep him from hurting Jacob...I think he would taken Jacob back or taken his wives and children from him. But God showed up and put the fear of himself in him.
As Jacob leaves Laben now he has to face Esau. He gives him a huge peace offering. And it seems like they are reconciled. Jacob with his wisdom settles in a different area, so as not to intrude in on Esaus livelihood.
In Luke we find Jesus in one part He is talking about Heaven I love this part in vs 30...and not this: some who seem least important now will be the greatest then, and some who are the greatest now will be least important. Heaven will be an interesting place.

Gen 29 and 30 Lke 11
Whew what a guy Jacob ends up being, always one step ahead. Until it came to his wives and marrying them. 14 years of work for that lady...no wonder God ended up making Jacob greater than Laben. Jacob allowed the trickery. He really loved Rachelle. I hope in some way he learned to love Leah. If not God honored her by giving her the majority of the tribe of Isreal. Maybe because Jacob handled that all so well that when it came time to earn his own living God blessed him and decreased Laben. Jacob was walking under the Abrahamic covenant.
In Lk 11 (somehow i read the wrong chapter yesterday) I like vs 9...And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking and you fill find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. God isnt hiding anything from me. May I be a asker, a seeker and a knocker that God wants me to be.

Gen 27, 28, Ps 4 and Luke 12
In todays reading we find Jacob gathering the 'blessing' from his dad, and Esau's birthright from him for a pot of stew. Wild game stew my translation says. Not to appetizing. Esau's being impetuous affected all the events that followed. Most blame Jacob for being tricky or sneaky but lets look at Esau...sell your birthright for some food. Something that will be gone in a moment of time. Living in the now...carpe diem...but tomorrow comes, parents pass on and the birthright will be given. And it was, and Esau basically forced it from Jacob, by threatening to kill him. Then in marriage he goes among the Ishmealites. Did he not listen to the stories by his grandpa Isaac, about the trouble that brother gave him. He basically seals his fate by going to the 2nd best. And not following after his fathers BEST. Jacob does follow after his parents best and ends up obeying him and in his obedience God appears and assures Jacob that the blessing of covenant will continue with him. Take it from an ex-Esau, dont miss Gods best for something that can destroy it.
In Ps 4 we see early in the Psalms Gods promise for sweet sleep. vs 8 it says In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, will keep me safe. Good Promise.
Luke 12 we see Jesus Teaching how to be lead of the Spirit, he basically sayd the HS will give you words when you need them. Pretty simple, may I always keep that walk in the Spirit so simple.

Gen 18,19; Ps 3 and Luke 7
A lot going on today. Today God destroyed S and G. And had to almost literally drag Lot and his family out of there. So stubborn were they that the wife looked back and was destroyed herself. The rest of them were still S and G infected thats how another whole race started that had to be eliminated by the Isrealites later on. Just cause you were raised in a righteous home doesnt make you righteous. Lot knew what was going on. But chose otherwise.
Luke sees Jesus healing ministry. The gentile soldier didnt even want Jesus to come to heal his servent, just speak the word and it will be done. This chapter shows no word spoken by Jesus, only your faith has healed this boy. Also we see the a similar thing with the lady and the perfume...her faith has made her sins forgiven. I seems our lives are up to us. Do we use Jesus or not. Do we go to him in faith or not. We need to approach him, (sidenote Heb says we can come boldly to his throne.)
Ps 3 assures us victory! Bless God!

Gen12-14; Luke 5
Todays reading sends us thru Abrams calling. And defeat of a certain king, and the deliverance of an immoral people. Only because of Lot were these folks delivered. Lot was connected to the man of covenant. I wonder if people connected to the people of covenant receive blessings just cause of their associations, I have told some of my unsaved friends, your blessed cause your my friend. You need to get saved and come on over cause I dont know how far my blessings will take you.
Also it was the man of covenant that tithed to the priest/king. The others did not. AND it was the man of covenant that had 300 men living under his command.
In Luke, we find Jesus showing and saying that He is willing to heal. Its not a if it be your will kind of thing. He wills it. May we always lay claim to what belongs to us!!!

Gen 9-11 and Luke 4
The world baptized in water...Jesus baptized in water.
Submerged, the whole earth was submerged under water. In order for God to 'start' all over with Noah's clan. But sin entered in here too and continues to mess things up. People being dummies, yet others are being honorable.
Here we find Jesus being baptized. He had no sins. Yet he was baptized anyway. Then he heads out to the wilderness and finds himself being tempted, and leaves the wilderness still sinless. Oh may I combat the temptations that come my way with the Word of God, like Jesus did.

A New Day - Gen 3-5 and Luke 2
Todays reading begins the new life. For several folks. Adam and Eve, I never realized that Adam was told not to eat of the tree inthe garden, he had to relay the message to Eve since she was created later. Hmmm. Because of them eating of the tree they were given a new life. Cain and Able were born. After Ables slaying Cain had to start a new life. Not necessarily alone, God had marked him, so I can guess that in a way God was with him, at least "from a distance", Adam and Eve were given a new start with the birth of Seth. This family began to call upon and declare Gods Name. Interesting. Then Mary and Joseph, giving birth to the Savior, visited by shepherds, Simeon who received the fulfillment of a promise that he would see Gods Salvation. And Anna who prophesied over Jesus to all in the temple. These were life changing events for all.
After reading today it seems God has good in store for his 'humans' he called us humankind, which separates us from animals. Even when wrong was done, He has made a way for good to come. What a good God we serve.

My Soul Magnifies the Lord...Gen 1,2 and Luke 1
Today is the first day of the year. I hope to fill in this blog as I read Gods Word and have decided to journal on a blog.
Todays readings start the Bible and Start the Gospel. God said it and it was is found thru out the first chapter. God Said and it was, God said it and it was, God said it and it was. Zoom thru time to Luke and we find Zacheriah, God said it he doubted, I think he did it buligentry (sp) He be came mute because of it, later he spoke praises and prophecied. Elizebeth upon the presence of Jesus in the womb spoke praises. Mary heard what God spoke, asked for clarification, then accepted it. God Said it, she accepted it and it was.
Maybe that is what we are to do today. God speaks it, we accepted it and it will be! And until we see the fullfillment of the word, we will sing with Mary, My soul magnifies the Lord...
May I live worthy of seeing this in all areas of my life.
